Returning from Seattle!

Hello my dear readers!

You must be wondering why I haven’t updated Ciara Gill’s Organic Deals with wonderful organic coupons in awhile! The reason is because I took a wonderful trip to Seattle, WA.

Don’t worry though, I will be catching up this week and will be providing you with the greatest money saving organic coupons and deals that your printer will be worn out by the time I’m done! Before I begin with my usual posts, I thought I would share with you some images and high points of my trip.

We arrived at Seattle around noon on monday and we were starving and jet-lagged. So we dropped our bags at the comfy Warwick hotel and we put on our walking shoes. First, we ate a delicious authentic dinner at Bell Thai and grabbed a light dessert next door at The Yellow Leaf Cupcake Company. Since our bellies were stuffed, we took a nice walk to the Bell Harbor International Conference Center where my hubby was going to attend SMX Advanced. Once we established his morning route, we decided to visit Pike’s Place Market and see all the varieties of food, flowers and crafts the local merchants had to offer.

Then we made sure to visit 1912 Pike Place, Seattle, WA 98101. In other words, the original Starbucks store!

The coolest part about visiting the first Starbucks was when I ordered my drink. I received a survey for a free drink on top of all the excitement! I returned the next day with my coupon and ordered my favorite drink in a venti size.

I did a lot of tourist-y things while my hubby was busy with the expo. There were lots of delicious organic restaurants and since I’m such a foodie, I did my fair share of eating. Thank goodness I had a whole city to discover and walked it off. As a result of my wandering, I bumped into the most germy attraction in Seattle…the Gum Wall on Post Alley.

Oddly enough, I happened to be chewing on a pack of Glee Gum when I stumbled across it. So I left my mark there.

A trip to Seattle wouldn’t be complete without a visit to my next destination. My husband and I took the Seattle Center Monorail to the last stop…the Space Needle!

Once we entered, we took an exciting elevator ride up with an outside view. We had a 360 degree view of the entire city of Seattle and of Puget Sound. Mount Rainier was facing to the South of the Space Needle and the Cascade Mountains were facing East. Since I’m from New York City, I am used to being in tall buildings and seeing cars as big as the tip of my finger reminds me of being on top of the Empire State Building when I was a child. So I really enjoyed the view the observation deck offered.

Here’s a fun fact: the Space Needle Restaurant is designed to rotate 360 degrees on a turntable with only a  1½ horsepower motor (originally running on 1 hp motor)!

The last place we visited was the Seattle Aquarium.  The water in the tanks are sourced from Puget Sound and is filtered to clean any unwanted materials. This is really neat because the sea stars, shrimp, and small fish in the tanks get to eat plankton that is strained out from the Sound. My hubby made a cute video of all the adorable marine creatures we saw while we were there.

There was a lot more we did in our trip and with all the amazing things I still wanted to see and do, I was reluctant to leave by the end of our trip. The good news is that I am sure it will not be my last visit to Washington.

Now that I am done telling you about my amazing trip, it’s time to start sharing with you guys all of these amazing organic coupons I found! There are plenty of organic deals at Publix, Target, and Whole Foods Market that need to be explained too. So I am going to crack the whip and get posting like a madwoman!

Thanks for listening and being patient!
